A legacy of recognising those driving change
Founded by Simone Roche MBE in 2016, the Northern PoWEr Women Awards were created to shine a spotlight on role models, trailblazers and advocates working towards a more gender equal world.
Since 2016, the Awards have become recognised as the largest celebration of gender equality in Europe, creating visibility for thousands of people whose actions have helped drive progress.
Today, that legacy continues through our PoWEr List, Future List and Advocacy List celebrating emerging talent, established leaders and advocates whose leadership, influence and action are shaping a more inclusive future.

Celebrating a Decade of Impact
2025 marked 10 years of Northern PoWEr Women Awards – a decade of recognising, celebrating and amplifying the people driving positive change across the North and beyond.
Together, we’ve celebrated thousands of incredible people, built a community of more than 120,000, and generated over £2.2 million in social value. We’ve championed gender equality, inclusion and social mobility, creating connections, opening doors and giving a platform to people and stories that deserve to be seen and heard.
